In recent years, many unforeseen events have taken their mark on almost every area of most people's lives in Europe and around the world. It has not left us, the carrom players, unaffected either. In 2020, when the Polish Carrom Association was preparing to organise the 24th Carrom Eurocup, the Covid-19 pandemic began. After two years of restrictions on the organisation of sporting events, we decided to start preparations for the Carrom Eurocup in 2022. Unexpectedly, in recent days, the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation took place and war continues in the immediate vicinity of the European Union. In 2020, the covid-19 pandemic unexpectedly resulted in the development of an online version of carrom, which instead of separating players from each other, brought them closer together. We believe that our carrom community can overcome problems, show solidarity and be united. We also believe that issues such as equality, tolerance and friendship are at the heart of our community. That is why we have decided to go ahead with organising the 24th Carrom Eurocup Poland on 7-11 July 2022 in Oltarzew near Warsaw. We want this tournament to be also a form of showing support for Ukraine and opposition to military actions conducted on its territory. We are sure that more than 100 players from many European countries with a common goal have the power needed at such moments and it will be a small sign that we are not afraid or intimidated.

Negli ultimi anni, molti eventi imprevisti hanno segnato quasi ogni area della vita della maggior parte delle persone in Europa e nel mondo. Anche noi, giocatori di carrom, ne sono rimasti colpiti. Nel 2020, quando l'Associazione polacca Carrom si preparava a organizzare la 24a Carrom Eurocup, è iniziata la pandemia di Covid-19. Dopo due anni di restrizioni abbiamo deciso di avviare i preparativi per la Carrom Eurocup del 2022. Inaspettatamente, nei giorni scorsi, è avvenuta l'invasione dell'Ucraina da parte della Federazione Russa e la guerra continua nelle immediate vicinanze dell'Europa. Nel 2020, la pandemia di covid-19 ha portato inaspettatamente allo sviluppo di una versione online di carrom, che invece di separare i giocatori li ha avvicinati. Crediamo che la nostra comunità di carrom possa superare i problemi, mostrare solidarietà ed essere unita. Crediamo inoltre che questioni come l'uguaglianza, la tolleranza e l'amicizia siano al centro della nostra comunità. Ecco perché abbiamo deciso di andare avanti con l'organizzazione della 24a Carrom Eurocup Poland dal 7 all'11 luglio 2022 a Oltarzew vicino a Varsavia. Vogliamo che questo torneo sia anche una forma per mostrare sostegno all'Ucraina e opposizione alle azioni militari condotte sul suo territorio. Siamo sicuri che più di 100 giocatori provenienti da molti paesi europei con un obiettivo comune abbiano la potenza necessaria in questi momenti e sarà un piccolo segno che non abbiamo paura o intimidazione.
Abbiamo il grande piacere di invitarvi alla 24a Carrom Eurocup e non vediamo l'ora di vedervi in #8203;#8203;Polonia!
